Russian cbank to issue 2,000 rbl, 200 rbl banknotes in 2017

1000 ÐóáëåéMOSCOW, Apr 12 (PRIME) -- Russia’s central bank will issue banknotes with a face value of 2,000 rubles and 200 rubles and will start their circulation in 2017, Chairwoman Elvira Nabiullina told reporters on Tuesday.

“The board of directors of the Central Bank of Russia has decided to supplement the range of the banknote denominations with banknotes of 2,000 and 200 rubles. We think that the supplementation of the face value range of banknotes will facilitate payments for goods and services by households,” Nabiullina said.

She said that the new banknotes will not change the overall money supply.

The circulation start will have sense, if inflation amounts to 4–6%, Nabiullina said.
